Dumagueteneo’s Afternoon Tea at Sta. Monica Beach Club

Working alongside TCF Media, we were invited to Sta. Monica Beach Club last April 25, 2017 for a delicious afternoon tea. It was another deja vu experience to me because the last time I was there with all honesty was the week after they closed. Time does fly very fast because it hit me big time when I learned they we were back open since 2012. 😊 I missed 4 years visiting this little piece of heaven here in Dumaguete City.

The Arrival!

When we arrived, we were welcomed by their very own pandan water for refreshments, they grow their own pandan plant to supply this unique tasting water for guests like me who wanted to quench my thirst due to this unexplainable heat. Then our gracious host resort manager Ms. Judith Laurente warmly welcomed us introducing the group to the new owners of Sta. Monica beach club, One-of Collection – they manage distinctive hotels and resorts in the prime locations around our beautiful country. To name a few: Amorita Resort is a luxury beach resort in Panglao Bohol; Momo Beach House still in Panglao Bohol the resort is an eco-chic boutique resort setup. Finally, The Funny Lion resort in Coron Palawan is another paradise owned by One of Collection, it will be a dream to travel to these places.

The Place!

Before the place already have a beachy rustic ambiance but now they brought it to the next level of modern rustic interior design which is very cool, homey and inviting. It shouts relaxation and peace! Aside from the beautiful rooms, the management wanted to make all the guests feel that this is their home here in Dumaguete City and I must say they are doing a pretty good job with it. Overall, we were all lucky to have an exclusive peek of their renovated rooms and function areas.

Sta. Monica beach club is well known for hosting events, celebration and parties, well good news my friends they are still offering such wonderful function areas for all types of events. In fact, it can accommodate 100-180, 200-300 pax. To summarize, if you plan on finding a place to celebrate you might want to look and check them out.

They also have their inhouse Diving Shop “Oceanism” owned by Maio (Chinese), they offer diving courses and direct trips to Apo Island – one of the greatest spots for snorkeling, Oslob Cebu – if you want to swim with the friendliest whales in the country and Sumilon Island a very luxurious island you don’t want to miss out if you visit this part of the country. They don’t have any flyers in English all of them are in Chinese as soon as they can make one they’ll send it to us.  I was able to ask Miao about the services they offer you can check the video below.

The Food!

My expectations were already high and I was not disappointed not one bit. So much so, that I even set my allergies aside and went ahead devoured their in-house specialty Shrimp Pasta Aglio Olio, a sweet mixture of herbs all blended well to create this one savory dish. For the first time in Dumaguete City, i had QUICHE! I shamelessly ate 5 I think LOL! It was very tasty and well baked! They also make their own fruit jams and they were all rich in flavor. Their food is centered to an asian pacific cuisine and the range of dishes are diverse and well thought out, they took a number of best-loved dishes from all around and added their own unique twist of dumagueteneo style.

If you want to experience some great food adventure the place offers an EAT ALL YOU CAN every Saturday.
